These insulation assemblies are made for the purpose of providing protection for sensitive helium bottles used by one of our local space launch vehicle companies. The covers had to be quilted and fabricated to provide a perfect fit around the bottles and in such a way that they could be used and removed with a minimum of time, without compromising their purpose to provide the insulation. The High Temperature Gap Fillers are used on space launch vehicles to provide protection for sensitive equipment during the launch. Temperatures can reach to over 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit in areas in which the protection is required. The fabrication requires significant skill to ensure the stability of both the ceramic fabric and the sewing process. See more pictures here.

The KAR KAP has been designed to provide protection from the impact of sunlight on automobiles during hot weather; with the KAR KAP on the vehicle, the temperature inside was 30 degrees cooler. The material used, Sunbrella Supreme, has a soft acrylic under side that eliminates the potential of scratches from the fabric on the painted and glass portions of the car, while the outer side provides significant protection from the sun.
